Former Pro Boxer | Concussion Awareness Advocate
Ray Ciancaglini is a former professional boxer and renowned concussion awareness advocate who has battled Parkinson's Syndrome and Pugilistica Dementia for many years. These progressive conditions are the direct result of his improper management of numerous concussions during his boxing career.
Ray travels the country lecturing at Colleges, about the importance of prompt and proper concussion management and the possible repercussions of circumventing appropriate concussion protocol. He also speaks at TBI seminars and medical institutions about living with a traumatic brain injury, stage 2 dementia and Parkinson’s tremors.
Ray is a member of the Rochester, NY Boxing Hall of Fame and the Geneva, NY Sports Hall of Fame. Ray has won many awards both inside and outside of the ring, most notably The Hickok Hero Award, The Golden Glove Heart Award, the Gerry Flynn Courage Award, the Paul Harris Rotary Award, the NY State Senate Commendation Award and the Rotary International Avenues of Service Award His greatest award, however, is knowing that he is making a difference in the lives of athletes and TBI survivors.
